Good. I was one of the admirer of Cha Fra. I had translated his "Sonsyaase Kaan" into Kannada,(ably helped by Late Swamy Supriya S.J., Na DSouza, & Fr. William D'Silva), but got cold shoulders from the Karnataka Jesuits, & could not publish the book...The script too I hope they have lost. But Cha Fra's poetry will live forever, Amen.

Our Konkani merchants have a great amount of sponteinity in the pun they use in dialogue with their customers. I feel these little puns are actually poems and stories which die minute deaths. We have not seen many Creative writers from this fraternity, Two great names among them are ofcourse Damodar Mauzo, of Goa who writes in Konkani and Late Janardhan Pai of Vittal who used to write in Kannada. I see a great promise in Suresh Baliga a merchant from Bantwal, who has emerged from nowhere. Which is evident in the following Konkani poem he wrote.
